IE8 will not display
I have an issue with my explorer where I cannot open the explorer. I can FTP because i can update the Symantec softwear and i can ping all sites from the command prompt. I can also open TELNET type systems for internet PvP programs. It seems the internet port is closed, but that is usually on the server, so I am stumped. I had a malware (www.full-scan.c o m) that ate my whole system. I cleaned that up, but cannot get the browser to do anything besides show the "cannot display the webpage". I have tried the diagnosis, device manager and troubleshooting processes. I have done the regsvr32 for the DLL's. any other suggestions? The Full-scan nonsense gives you fake anti-virus and directs you to initiate thier DEFRAG. It lists Microsoft as the creator of this program. It also gives you pop-up icons at the bottom toolbar that show you are missing your harddrive, DLL files and EXE files. Went to the geek squad. After a couple of hours we figured out the mal-ware had set the PROXIE to initiate. Turned it off and there was the internet. This is for anyone that has the same problem. Symantec does NOT pick this thing up.1 person got this answerI do too
