IE8 problems?
I have Vista SP2 on partition C with Firefox and Safari. Win7 RC 7100 on partition E - it runs great but a few programs won't run so once in a while I have to reboot to C. IE7 is the only browser that will now connect to the internet on C since installing Win7 and IE8. I had Firefox 3.5 on both drives but downgraded to 3.0.11 just in case there was a conflict with between 3.5 and IE8 but that didn't help. All three browsers work fine on Win7, E drive. Any ideas? First of all temporary disable your antivirus software and third-party firewall, open Start - Control panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> press the Reset button, click OK when a dialog window is appear; then find the Settings list on the Advanced tab and uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" -> press Apply and OK. Check for this issue again. My English is not very well.

Hello, After reading the contents in your thread, I dont think that IE8 application in Windows 7 would cause conflicts with the third-party browsers on the Vista partition. First you might try the steps provided in sick_'s response; if all fail, please check whether you set a proxy in Firefox and then contact Firefox's support directly to solve the problem in a timely manner. Meanwhile, since the issue only occurred in Vista OS, you might also submit another thread to Windows Vista Applications forum. Thanks for your time and understanding! Good Luck Andy
