Try the following:IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > remove the checkmark in front of "Enable third party browser extensions" > OK then restart IE.If that does not help re-enable third party browser extensions. If it does help, you would have to track down the third party browser extension causing the problem.

Can you restart the computer in "Safe Mode with Networking" and see if the issue still exists?

Hi,Please refer to Auggy's suggestions first to test the issue in Safe Mode with Networking. If the issue persists, please proceed to the following steps.1. Reload IE8 to default settings.2. Perform Clean Boot for a test.3. Run antivirus program and do a full scanning. If the issue persists, please capture the error message and upload it to Skydrive (www.skydrive.live.com), and then share the link to me for research. Thanks,Novak

Hi, Does the issue occur in Safe Mode with Networking? Have you performed the above suggestions? If not, it's highly recommended to reload IE8 settings and run IE in Clean Boot mode. However, if the issue persists, I suggest we create a new user profile for a test. 1. Open the Control Panel and click "User Accounts" 2. Click "Manage another account" and create a new account. 3. Type a user name and select "Administrator" option, and then click "Create Account" button. 4. Log off the current profile and log in the new created account. Does the issue persist? If so, please upload the error information for further research. Thanks, Novak

since it doesnt happen often. I don't think running in safemode for 4+ hours waiting for it to happen really feasible

Hi,Since the issue only occurs occasionally, we need not test in Safe Mode with Networking. Instead, it's highly recommended to perform a Clean Boot and reload IE settings for a test.Does the issue occur in Clean Boot? Thanks,Novak
