IE8 hangs at random
I have installed Windows 7 Pro I have found a bug in IE8 IE 8 hangs and becomes unresponsive. This problem is random and is not attached to a particular website it occurs on http as well as https sites. The problem occurs on a freshly booted machine and if the PC has been running for a while. After rebooting the computer, I can reopen the last browsing session without a hang. I do not believe this is a Win 7 issue but an IE 8 problem. The PC has 3Gig of Memory in it so that is not an issue. Has anyone had this similar issue? Is there a fix for this problem? Here is the event string. Any help would be appreciated Log Name: Application Source: Application Hang Date: 12/9/2009 8:34:46 AM Event ID: 1002 Task Category: (101) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: XXXXXX Description: The program iexplore.exe version 8.0.7600.16385 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. It's not a bug. Your issue can occur if the IE setting is incorrect, or the temp folder need clear up.Can you let us knowif your current system is 32-bit or 64-bit?Now, you can tryto startIE with no Add-ons. To do so, please click the Start Button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Right now, check if the issue persists. If the issue does not reoccur, it may be caused by an IE Add-on. In that case, lets continue to perform the following steps to narrow down the cause. Check Internet Explorer Add-Ons=========================1. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. 2. Click the "Programs" tab, and then click Manage Add-ons. 3. Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. 4. Please restart IE with Add-ons and check the issue again. If the issue is resolved, the disabled Add-on was the cause of the issue. If the issue reoccurs, please continue to disable the next Add-on using the same method. By doing so, you can determine which Add-on contributed to the issue. In addition, you can try to reset the IE setting to test. 1. Open IE, click "Tools", and click "Internet Options".2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab.3. Refer to "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" section, and click "Reset".4. Click "Close" when the resetting process is complete.5. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Browsing box.6. Click "Apply", click "OK". I hope this helps. John
