IE8 directing through proxy:8080. When on Windows 7 machines we get a proxy login prompt for each new IE8 tab or window opened. This only happens with IE8 on Windows 7 machines. Windows XP users with IE8 only get 1 login prompt and are free to open multiple IE tabs without further login prompts. IE Security settings are the same for both XP and Windows 7 users. Protected Mode is disabled. How do we force IE8/Windows7 to only prompt once for proxy access?

Hi, Thanks for the post! Did this issue happen before? How often does it happen? Please enter into Safe Mode with networking to check if the issue persists. Also try a Clean Boot to find if there's any conflict. Also try to reset IE to check if it works. In addition, click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - under HTTP 1.1 settings, uncheck "Used HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections". If still not work, in order to find what happene during the connection, we need to analyze the network trace. Fistly, please delete the DisableLoopbackCheck key from registry. Then, follow these steps: 1. Download the Network Monitor 3.4:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=983b941d-06cb-4658-b7f6-3088333d062f&displaylang=en 2. Log onto the machine, right-click the Netmon icon and select Run as Administrator to launch the NetMon. 3. In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4 window, click Create a new capture tab... 4. In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window. 5. After that, press F10 to start NetMon. 6. Try to re-produce the issue on the computer. 7. Go back to the NetMon window and press F11 to stop the NetMon. 8. Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file and upload them to the SkyDrive in a public folder. In addition, please understand that analyze/troubleshoot this kind of issue may be time-consuming.
