Hey, that's good news. I remember that a very knowledgeable MVP-colleague of you on this forum tried to convince me by hook or by crook that it was absolutely impossible to update ONLY the IE-part of the Windows 7 beta 7000.KB 962921is the proof that it can be done and that some people on this forum should stop thinking that theyhave the monopoly of wisdom. That is also the reason why I have been insisting so much on more MS involvement in this forum : we need to know what they are doing with all our feedback.I am not asking for individual answers, but MS knew already for some time that they were going to do something about the "IE freezes" and the "IE not respondings" : prove is there = an update for IE8.THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT A SMALL POST ON THE FORUM - telling us that the problem was recognized and that they would do something about it.So : "R" please accept that I will read your posts with the necessaryreticence infuture.

This is one of the (5) Windows updates that was released Feb 24th (KB962921) That everyone has been talking about." Starting on February 24th we will be offering some test updates to Windows 7 Beta (build 7000) computers. We do typically verify update scenarios during a Beta, and releasing these test updates will help ensure that when we need to release real updates, the process will run smoothly. There will be at most five updates. These updates test the Windows 7 servicing infrastructure. They will not deliver any new features or fixes. "

This is what we got on it and if you research it one had a something to do with IE but didn't change it out or anything.Starting on February 24th we will be offering some test updates to Windows 7 Beta (build 7000) computers. We do typically verify update scenarios during a Beta, and releasing these test updates will help ensure that when we need to release real updates, the process will run smoothly. There will be at most five updates. These updates test the Windows 7 servicing infrastructure. They will not deliver any new features or fixes. The updates will be offered interactively. This means that users will be notified of available updates, but they wont install automatically. Users will need to go to the Windows Update control panel and manually start installation. They will also be clearly titled as a test update. If you dont want to install the updates then you can right click on each update and select Hide update to prevent it from being shown in the list of available updates. Hi Egads, Microsoft released KB967355 and KB967540 for only testing Windows Update. They do not fix any problem on Windows 7 beta computer. However, the IE update is KB962921, its not a mere placebo. Thank you for understanding.
