IE8 Display problems ,links not showed
IE8 display problem. Pages don’t display correctly. Example one webpage ( www.malwarebytes.org )has three icon boxes in a banner, the banner don’t show up neither do the icons links, but if you move the mouse in that area you will see the little hand on the mouse as you hover over the hidden link download , buy etc. MSN home page, if you move the mouse over the News link the pull down box shows the links but there is a box around each link, and it don’t show the normal grayed link without a box around it as you move over it. I reset IE8, it’s free of malware and virus, I also updated Java, Adobe shockwave. Reinstalled SP3 and reinstalled IE8 again. I was getting desperate and tried Mozilla browser as well and it also has the same problem as well. Melvin Edward Melvin Edward

Melvin, I can't tell if you were transfered here or not, but I don't believe this is the correct forum for your question either. IN this case, Network Monitor is a network trace utility. So we focus on questions about using this application, the API, filtering, etc. Based on the fact that both IE8 and Mozilla don't draw the screen properly I'm guessing that there is either a Video Display issue or perhaps some OS component that isn't resolving that webpage properly. I suppose it's also possible that Anti-Virus or something along these lines are blocking certain internet file types. Looking at the Malwarebyte.org site you sent, it's really a simple site, but it does require a CSS page to be sent in order to populate the bitmaps that you are missing. But with out further troubleshooting, there's not much I can say. My suggestion is to start in the Windows 7 miscelaneous forum and hopefully they can help you troubleshoot this further. Thanks, Paul

Hi Melvin, Could you please let us know the operating system you are using? According to your description, it seems you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed. If this is the situation, this is not the proper forum to ask this question. You can go to Internet Explorer 8: Help and support Center for direct assistance. However, if you are using Windows 7, please try the following suggestions to see if the issue can be resolved: First, access Clean Boot to check the issue. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue. If the issue persists, Start Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) with No Add-ons mode to see if the issue occurs. To do this, Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Note: If the issue does not occur after you use this method, use the Manage Add-ons option in the Tools menu to determine which add-ons are causing the issue. If the issue still exists, you can move on to try the following suggestions: Add to Trusted sites ============= 1. Click the “Start” button, type “inetcpl.cpl” (without quotation marks) in the “Search” bar and then press “Enter”. 2. Switch to the “Security” tab, click "Trusted sites" and then click "Sites". 3. Type the URL of the site (such as www.msn.com in the "Add this Web site to the zone" box and click “Add” 4. Uncheck the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box and click “Close”. Reset Internet Explorer (IE) again ============= Note: the following steps will remove all of installed add-ons and reset IE to default settings. We need to reinstall the add-ons after resetting. 1. Click "Start", type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotation marks) into “Search” bar and press "Enter" to open the “Internet Options” window. 2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab. 3. Click "Reset…" to reset Internet Explorer settings. 4. Check "Delete personal settings" box and click "Reset" to confirm the operation. 5. Click "Close" when the resetting process is complete. 6.
