IE8 Date Execution Prevention closes web page when trying to download Adobe Reader X
When I go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and try to download Adobe Reader X, Date Execution Prevention (DEP) closes the web page and indicates that an add-on may be causing a problem. This does not happen if I try the same thing running IE8 without add-ons, but without add-ons you are not prompted to download and install. However, if I go to IE8 Tools, Manage Add-Ons and individually disable every installed add-on, the problem still occurs. Since I have disabled every installed add-on (Toolbars and Extensions, Search Providers, Accelerators, InPrivate Filtering), none of the add-ons is causing the DEP problem. I have reset the settings of IE8, reinstalled IE8, run system file checker, and the malicious software removal tool. I am running windows XP Media Center SP3. What else could be causing this problem?1 person needs an answerI do too

Acrobat Reader isn't my problem, I just used that as an example of my IE8 DEP problem. The same DEP problem happens if I try to download Adobe Flash using IE8. On an IE8 installation that doesn't have this problem, pressing the download button on the Adobe Reader/Flash download webpage causes the user to be prompted to allow the installation of Adobe Download Manager. On my XP SP3 installation it causes a DEP error.
