I/O device error
Hello, I encrypted my one of my drive in windows 7 OS . while encrypting i switched off the ups directly and later switched on the ups i opened the drive by giving the password and later i kept the my PC running till morning . At morning the computer shutoff automatically as there was no power and the ups backup is very minimal. Again later that day when i tried to open the drive with my password it get's a "I/O device error" . Again i tried to open it through my bit recovery key it denotes the key is wrong and try again. please please please help . Yours thankfully, Debajyoti roy

This looks very bad... like if your computer were writing on disk and suddenly the computer turned off because of you had no electrical energy at home and the UPS battery was ended... In this case the hard drive can stay in a bad state... Did you get some information more with the error? Did you try a chkdsk? Regards. Hi, Have you tried the BitLocker Repair Tool? It also can apply to Windows 7. If not, please try it and see how it works. If issue persists, Im afraid that there is no workaround. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
