I've tried almost everything, but it still says im not connected.
I'm currently having trouble with my computer's internet connection. Im not a computer wiz, so i'm asking for some help. Im using a Compact GSB or somehting like that adaptor, and im using Linkys(or Linyks) Cisco router. I have a wireless connection, and im using a windows XP hp computer. Im currently typing on my Dell laptop, and the connetion on this works fine. anyways, im trying anything to get my nternet back. It says im connected, but everytime i open either IE or Firefox, it says either page cannot load, or IE8 says im connected, but it won't show up. I tried using the Automatically detect setting, Nada. Still doesn't work. I tried repairing it, and even system restore. While the latop work fine, the computer doesn't. Im very annoyed, so please help me! I hope your answer isn't very complicated, because as I said before, im not a computer wiz.EDIT: I've also triedchanging theDNS and doing the ip config this whole thingy popped up and it made my connection have limited or no connectivity, and it also did something with media. Goto Start-> Run and type cmd Then type ipconfig /all and hit return - what does it show? Now do the same on your laptop and post what this shows as well.

Did you try using a Wired connection between your laptop and wireless router ?Last time I had this funny issue, managed to resolve it by changing the cable.
