I'd like Bitlocker to go using one password in my company (two domains)
Hi there, 2008R2, W7 Ultimate workstations, 2 domains. Is it possible to not let the user enter a password and make Bitlocker to go use one password in the entire company (2 separate domains) ? I want to set this password for every used external HDD (stick). To make it a bit more difficult there are two seperate domains and they want to exchange USB - sticks. Or do I need to use certificates for this and using a company name or domainame ? I'd like to hear from you. Yours, Ben. Ben van der Meer

Hi, I am not clear what is your true meaning. Do you want to encrypt all removable drives in the meantime? In my opinion, you can automate the deployment and configuration of BitLocker and the TPM using either WMI or Windows PowerShell scripts: Enabling BitLocker by Using the Command Line http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd894351(v=ws.10).aspx Alex Zhao TechNet Subscriber Support If you are TechNet Subscription user and have any feedback on our support quality, please send your feedback here.Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

Hi there, It's no problem having Bitlocker to go working, but every removable drive needs (wanted also) to be encrypted. The wizard asks for a password. I don't want the user to enter the password, because then they can use different passwords everytime and don't remember the correct one witdh the correct memory stick or so. The owner of the company wants the colleageas to exchange the sticks and that all users use one password, so every employee can access the disk (not only read, but write also). So I'd like to install the option (if there is one) to set one password for all and that all removable disks have that one and only password. Got it ? Yours, Ben.Ben van der Meer

Hi, Based on my understanding, you want to encrypt all removable drives with a same password. There is no option to configure a common password for all drives. But as I said, you can automate the encrypt process via script. Hi there Alex, You got it. I want to encrypt all removable drives with a same password using bitlocker to go. I d like to do that in two domains. There is no option to configure a common password for all drives through Policies, But as you said, you can automate the encrypt process via script. Understandable I am very interested in this script. Scripting is my weakest point, so do you know Where can get examples ? Yours, Ben.Ben van der Meer

Hi there Alex, Thanks very much. I'm going into the script and also many thanks for the link to get o know more about scripting. All I ever did in scripting was using batch files and Kixtart. Hope I can get back to you if I have any more questions during the proccess. Thanks again. Ben.
