Hyper-V user access control

How can I control local user access to virtual machine on local computer running on Hyper-V?

I can add user in Hyper-V Built-in admin group, but it gives full control of the virtual machine which is not desired.

I have tried Azman (Authorisation Manager) the definitions are exactly what I want e.g. user can't delete or change vswitch.

But when user logins in Hyper-V does not give access to VM. It complains about privileges.

Any guidance highly appreciated.

ps Can I achieve this if the VM was domain joined?

Hi,

As far as I know, Authorisation Manager is the only way to manage Hyper-v access, you may made a uncorrect confirguration, please follow the method of the link below for test:

Hi

I have followed the mentioned link step-by-step twice and it does not work for me.

When user opens Hyper-V manager, he cant see the VM and it says contact administrator of localhost.

Again if I just add the user in Built-in Hyper-V administrators group, he can see the VM and fully control it. But full control is not desired.

Thanks

So I asked Hyper-V development team and their reply is .. unfortunately, its all or nothing.

Not good. Why would you control the level of access to VM the local user gets?

Why cant you change group permission? ie. built-in groups .. Hyper-V administrators
