I am having trouble with the 3g mobile modem huwaei E180. This is a composite usband has a zero disk installation.Win7 recognises it as a drive and I can browse the folders where the winxp/vista/macfiles are stored. I install the software and no issue here.Problem is that Huawei #g Modem is not iniciated!I am using a HP Elitebook 8530w.TiAAntonio

HiProblemseems to berelated to the ZDI zero disk install feature of this modem. Workaround: 1)copy the installation folders/files into your hard disk. 2) Unplug the USBmodem3)run \disk1\modemAddons\Huawei Modems_2_88_WIN (or the installation file that came with your modem)4)When programa asks, plug the USBmodem5) Now Modem shows in the devce manager and is possible to start using it.BRAntonio

I have a similar problem, where E180 ince get installed automatically is displayed as both a modem and a network card. anf by default network card connection seems to be working and hence it is not seen as a modem. I tried disabling the network card option in device manager but then the connection does not work at all. I need modem to work as I want the Internet explorer to dial out and connect whenever the connection is not available, I am using XP. regards
