How to use my D-Link router to leach the connection from my wireless external internet card...HELP!!!
I'm desperate here. OK here's my situation.I am running Windows XP.I live in the basement suite of a house, and my PC connects just fine to the wireless internet upstairs, BUT my XBOX and PS3 don't have a strong enough range to reach. Sometimes it does, but 90% of the time it doesnt. My PC connects to the upstairs router using a D-Link Wireless USB card I got. Nothing fancy but it works. Now, is there a way that I can use that connection, and share it so that I can plug my XBOX and PS3 into my own own D-Link router so they can leach the connection my PC is using from upstairs?PLEASE help. I am out of ideas and I don't know how to figure this out.1 person needs an answerI do too

HiYou need a Router that can be configured as a Wireless Bridge.Such a Router acts like a Driver-less Wireless card, it will connect to the main Router, you can plug 4 devices to its switch and get Internet connetion.Very few Wireless Router can work as Wireless Bridge as is, many Routers can be flashed with a 3rd party firmware called DD-WRT, and then be configured as a Wireless Bridge. Here is the info about which Routers (at the end of the page).http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/InstallationHere is how-to set a bridge after the change to DD-WRT.http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge Jack-MVP Windows Networking. HiThe 524 is rather an old device. This is an inexpensive Wireless Router (better than the 524) that can be flashed and do it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320026&cm_re=asus_wireless_router-_-33-320-026-_-Product ----------Disclaimer - I have no connection with any Brand that manufactures Network Devices (or any other computer hardware) of any kind, nor any connection with computer's hardware vendors.
