How to upgrade Lync 2010 client to Lync 2013 client for Lync 2010 Server / Where can I get Lync 2013 client from?

Dear Sirs,

As far as I'm aware of, my company runs a Lync 2010 server environment. They provide us Lync 2010 client. But I would like to use Lync 2013 client instead.

Where can I download Lync 2013 client software from?

Thank you in advance!

Kind Regards,
Armin Schmidt

Hi,

Lync 2013 is part of the Office 2013 suite and is installed when you install Office 2013 on your machine.
You can download and install the Lync basic client (32 or 64) if you don't have Office 2013 licenses.
Note some features of Lync 2013 are not available on the Basic version.

Office 2013 Pro Plus, Office 365 ProPlus or Office 365 Midsize Business are some editions of the licensed Office family of products which include the Lync desktop client (now Skype for Business).

Take a look here for a good review:

Otherwise, you may wish to consider the Lync Basic versions, taking into consideration the supported features:

Hi Yoav,

Thank you very much for your answer!

I have Office 2013 Home & Business, but this doesn't seem to include Lync 2013 client. At least Lync 2013 wasn't installed, when I downloaded Office 2013 and installed it.   :(

Is there any way to buy Lync 2013 client for my Office 2013 Home & Business package beside an upgrade to Office 2013 Professional?

Thank you in advance!

Regards,
Armin

Hi Armin,

As Desmond Lee mentioned above, You can get the full Lync client as part of the Office 2013 professional suite or as part of an Office 365 subscription. Alternatively, you'll have to use the basic clients.
