How to stop an automatic changing of the local administrator password in a domain?
Hello! What process could change a local administrator password automatically during a restart on a domain Windows Vista enterprise? I want to prevent the automatic changing of the windows local "Administrator" password in a week after resetting (giving a new password) of the password by a domain administrator. How to stop the automatic changing? Unplugging a LAN cable for a time of the windows restart prevents the automatic changing of the password, but prevents the "Work online" button from appearing in the Windows Explorer. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee829687(WS.10).aspx did not help. The "Interactive logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration" is "5 days", but the prompt does not appear in my case, therefore it cannot be the cause. The password is reset by a script probably, not because of the expiration. The Windows restore would make other unwanted changes. The fact that Unplugging the corporate domain LAN cable for the time of the windows restart prevents the automatic changing of the password, means that a script could change the password. How to find and correct the script? How to stop the password auto renewal policy through services.msc ? The script resets my needed Windows Explorer customizations. How to prevent the resetting? Regards, Administrato
