How to set the HTML Editors list in ie11?

In IE11 in Tools (menu) | Internet Options (menu) | Programs (tab), there is a section called HTML editing.  The dropdown list shows Microsoft Expression Web 4, Excel, Word, Publisher and Notepad.  It doesn't show Notepad++ or Visual Studio.

How can I add programs to the HTML Editors list?

How can I launch an editor to edit the page I'm viewing in IE11?.

Hi,

I have tried to add following registry keys and the Notepad++ showed up in HTML editor:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\Notepad++]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\Notepad++\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\Notepad++\shell\edit]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\Notepad++\shell\edit\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Notepad++\\notepad++.exe\" /n \"%1\" /o \"%u\""

Do you want to implement like this?

Kate, I found a solution that works, but I don't like my solution.

First, the solution you suggest is one I had already tried, but it wasn't working for me.  Then I did a "Switch User" to my local administrator account, and without changing anything, it was working.  Obviously it was a permissions issue.  I rebooted and tried again as a normal user, but IE would not recognize any new HTML editors.

Finally, I used my administrator account to run Regedit and change the permission on those registry keys so that my normal user account had "Full Control" on those keys.  Then it worked.
