How to restrict access to a folder on the network/server
I am setting up a folder for my two bosses to use to keep private files in on the network/server. They do not wish for any one else to be able to access it but themselves but I am having trouble finding how to do this. Could this be password protected or just restricted user access? Any help appreciated greatly.

You have not provided important information. Are you working in workgroup or active directory? What is the structure of folders on server? If every boss has his/her own shared folder, then there is no problem. Give then full access and share to their own folder. There is alternative for the case when boss's folder is inside users tree structure. In this case you can use "deny" rule for other users that targets boss's folder only. Regards Milos

May I know this any one including you or not? You may build FTP or folder sharing. Set password and the directory will achieve it. The importance is who is the ownership of the folder and has permission to access it.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support

I don't know if I'm working in workgroup or active directory? We use one main folder on our server, the F drive to hold all our folders we need. I've created a new one (currently empty) which my two bosses wish to use to keep private docs in. I am the only other employee and they wish for me to set this up for them. I am not allowed access to this folder.
