How to restore your Windows 7 to Windows Vista if you had it before
You may need to restore your Windows 7 to Windows Vista using the Acer Recovery Tool. Start your computer and go into the BIOS (press F2 to enter Setup). In the BIOS, change the BIOS setting to hard drive (1st boot device). Press F10 to make these changes and exit Setup. Press Esc to load the GRUB command line. There are options. Press ENTER to boot the correct version of boot up. Press E to edit the command before booting. Select Windows with SLIC Loader option and press ENTER. Choose the 'Restore the computer to factory settings' and click Next. It will restore the computer. The process allows you to reinstall Windows Vista to complete the recovery process. It will come up with the installation screen. Choose the language and click Next. Click Install Now. Type your product key and click Next. Typing it in allows Windows to automatically detect the version you have got. If you don't, then you need to select the right edition otherwise you will not going to activate it at a later stage. Accept the terms and click Next. Choose a clean install. You can only upgrade Windows Vista if you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 installed. Choose the partition: click Format. Choose Next. Installation will take half an hour. After it, it should reboot and come up with the Windows Boot Manager screen. Choose Windows Vista and press ENTER. Again, it will reboot and show up the Windows Boot Manager screen. Choose Windows Vista and press ENTER. Choose the computer's name and the desktop background. Type a user and click Next. Type a password for administrator access to User Account Control. Then type your password hint and click Next. Choose Use recommended settings, Install important updates only or Ask me later. Set the clock and the timezone you are using. We are going to go through the activation. Now I can set all memory settings. Click on Activate Now. I can use all settings. If you have not activated it in 30 days, you might need to reinstall Windows Vista. If you selected the incorrect edition of Windows Vista (like I have shown you in step 11), you might need to purchase it. It costs almost £139.99 (as twice as the cost of Windows 7 editions).
