How to report a bug now that RTM is here?
Now that RTM has occurred, and we are in RC-RTM limbo between now and August 6th (or October 22nd depending on who you are), how does one go about giving feedback?I discovered a bug recently in Windows 7 (in media center specifically) that needs to be reported, however the normal channels(connect)for bug reporting seem closed now that RTM has occurred. It is possible that is has been fixed post RC, so I suppose I could wait 10 days and maybe there will be a new method of bug filing once 7 is live on MSDN and technet. What method can I go about filing a bug right now? I understand it will be a post RTM fix if anything, but I would like to file it sooner than later before I forget about it, and it goes unfixed or drives me crazy, which ever may come first ;)Is the only answer to wait for RTM availability?Matt Kleinwaks - MSMVP MSDN Forums Moderator - www.zerosandtheone.com

Matt - If I recall correctly, one of the blogs I read said that just because the code was labeled as RTM didn't mean that development was going to stop. Given this, I would imagine posting bug reports using the usual channels would be a good thing.

Hi MattThe information about the mechanism for further feedback and bug reporting for the RC as well as the RTMbuilds have not beenmade clearyet. We have a mix ofpublic beta testersposting here, some of whom will have access to the RTM on the 6th and some that will not. I am guessing that we will have many threads that will be comparing these 2 buildsand discussing bugs that have been fixed or not fixed, as well as any possible regression bugs.I would recommend that you wait until you get the RTM, test to see if the bug is still present and then post your findings, positive or negative,in a threadhere.Regards,Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
