How to remove ex owners details on my Pc
I have recently bought a second hand pc. for the first two monthswas using pc, but started realising something was wrong, as I couldent change some things in admin mode , and some things were modified on my PC, without me having changed anything. When I bought the Pc I asked ex owner if he had any passwords, he said no, to cut a long story short I came to realise that I was on the old ex owner network, I had set up a router and thought I was going through my provider. As things have changed on my pc, I have searched the internet for answers, I belive the ex owner has been logging on illegally to my pc and modifying things. I have kept written acoounts of all details including ips. I need help with removing all ex owners details from my pc, including removing the network, for I have found out that my pc is not going through my provider but still on old network. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Well depending on where you live, you could look at having a local IT shop do a cleanup for you. You can look at doing a fresh wipe of the system. I have recovered used systems before, and it can be a detail oriented task that you have to perform. If your not comfortable with it, Seek a local IT shop. On the surface you can do this, I am guessing Windows 7, Do this while not plugged into the internets. Start --> Control Panel --> User Accounts Create a new User account and grant it Administrative rights. Remove all other user accounts and disable the Administrator account. Write down you password. Install a good anitvirus and malware protector like Security Essentials.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. The answer is always 42, or reboot.

Hi, check event viewer to make sure no-one is accessing your machine without your knowledge and check you aren't still connected to the ex owner domain by right clicking on computer in the start menu and selecting properties John Miller MCTS
