How to remove cached entries from Remote Desktop connection list?
Win 7 Pro 64-bit here. I used Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a remote machine, and now I want to remove that machine name from the drop down box. I tried removing it from the registry as suggested in KB312169 , rebooted the machine, but I'm still seeing the machine name listed in the "Computer:" drop down box.

Ok I guess great ideas still come in after a good nap. Create a new user account with admin rights and the open regedit. then load the ntuser.dat hive from the other account, search for the host name you connected to, and then when you find it, delete it. Make sure you don't forget to unload the ntuser.dat hive. OR.... Try from the new administrative account. Also you can delete the user profile, and recreate it. That might work after all this hassle. There is a Microsoft fixit available for this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312169 I tried the manual insturctions so that I could remove just one entry and those don't work (Windows 7 64bit), but the fixit button did remove all entries like it said it would. It did not remove the stored crednetials though.
