How to register OLE DB provider by Oracle
Dear buddies, How can I register/configure the oledb which I downloaded from Oracle? What should I do after downloading it? I downloaded it from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/ole_db/index.html I am working on Windows7 where I have Oracle client and instant client. My Oracle 10g database resides on a different server. When I double click on the exe, I receive various errors but able to access Oracle from SQL Server. The errors are as such: The NTDVM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:0588 IP:011c OP:63 6f 6d 65 20 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. If I click ignore, the same message appears with changes in the CS:0588.. I tried the methods given here: http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/38330/0/ but didn't work for me. I am using Windows 7. I am able to use my Oracle Client and instant client even before I downloaded the oledb. Please guide me on how can I fix this problem. Thanks in advance. Alagu

Hi AlaguKasi, Since Oracle is a third party program which we do not have enough Knowledge about it, to register OLE DB, it’s highly recommended to involve Oracle support for further assistance. Meanwhile, if you have any question about Windows 7, please feel free to let us know and we will assist you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Regards, Novak
