How to put one BEK file on a USB stick to boot into Multiple computers with Bitlocker?
I'm working on a project for school using Windows 7 Ultimate BitLocker, the final question states "Try configuring BitLocker so that we can have one usb stick (with ONE startup key) that will allow us to boot to myself, and a partners system" I know it is possible to have multiple keys on a USB Stick, but the requirement is ONE Key for TWO computers. We thought of making a Windows 7 Encrypted Image with the one key, and using FOG to ghost a second machine to see if the BEK would still function for both. Is there any other way of doing this??

Jamcram, This is not possible. When we encrypt a volume, we create the recovery password per volume per computer. Also you can have a recovery key as an additional protector for the volume. Again this is per volume per computer. You can store multiple recovery keys (bek) files on a USB device and use it to boot to Windows if BitLocker goes in a recovery mode. but you cannot have one key (bek) for two computers. I hope this answer your question.Manoj Sehgal
