How to prevent a user from logging on the domain when no gpo's are applied
Hello We have a situation where students logon to the domain after hitting the enter quickly remove the network cable and putting it back after a couple of seconds all GPO are not applied. This causes us so many problems like changing proxy server adres and so on We tried to block logon with interactive cached logon is set to 0 but no succes. I desperatly seeking for a solution :) Thank in advance Extra Information: PC = Windows 7 sp1 and all updates applied Server/Domain = Native Server 2008 Security = Total lockdown of PC Gui = Res Powerfuse Frank Andringa

The solution stems from the forbidding caching "password" in local policy (or better in policy that applies as last one). Change Interactive Logon: Number of previous logons to cache..." to zero. Regards Milos (PS: I would recommend give problems like this one in server forum.)

Thanks for your answer but we already tried that one :) I'm currently investigating the setting "Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon."

Hi, The group policy setting to modify the cached credential's count only applies to Windows XP and 2003 system. To disable chache credentials, we may set the following registry value to 0: MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\CachedLogonsCount Cached domain logon information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172931 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
