How to move Robocopy's 'extra' files to a third folder, maintaining directory structure?
My goal is to create a command file to move all the path/filenames listed in a text file from their current location to an archive location while maintaining the directory structure. I created a Robocopy command (which will run first) that successfully creates a text file with all the 'extra' files listed. robocopy g:\move e:\move /l /x /njh /njs /s /ndl /xc /xo /xn /xl /ns /nc /xf ~$* > E:\Log\ExtraGtoE.log The next Robocopy command successfully mirrors from the first directory to the second directory. robocopy G:\Move E:\Move /MIR /S /E /COPY:DATSO /ZB /R:10 /W:5 /LOG:"E:\Log\MirrorGtoE.log" /V /NFL /NP /NDL /XJ /FFT /XO I need something in between those two commands to move the 'extra' files to a third directory. The solutions I've found move the files to a specific folder and thus lose the directory structure. thanks for your help. . Moderators are good. I've used forums since the BBS days; before the internet, AOL, Compuserve, Prodigy, Genie... you name it. I've used it. Moderators bring civility. But in the Expression Web forums, the most uncivil are the moderators and their entourage of thugs. They abuse those who appeal for civility. I've seen countless uncivil forums, but the Expression Web forum is so uncivil, you'll find endless examples of alienated customers. The thugs cause Microsoft to lose money and I wonder why something isn't done about it. And they owe me an apology.

Peterson, no. His question is about moving the content of a folder. My question is about moving files listed in a text file. . Moderators are good. Peterson, thank you. I didn't find an answer there, but I agree with you that an answer will best be found in the scripting forum rather than this forum. I will re-post with some more clarification in the scripting forum. The reason the scripting forum is appropriate and the reason finding a solution is so difficult is that the solution requires a series of parsing and concatenation within a loop, and this is something that many of us old batch file guys aren't familiar with in the new environment. thanks for your links. .Moderators are good. I opened the new thread here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ITCG/thread/04132a97-4fa8-43ea-aa4e-75576fa74cbd/ I've used forums since the old BBS days. Moderators are good. Moderators bring civility. But in the Expression Web forums, the most uncivil are the moderators and their entourage of thugs. They alienate customers and then abuse those who speak out against abuse.
