How to launch Microsoft Security Essential
How does one launch MSE? I use to see it in my Start menu, but no longer. I suspect that there is some history and recency that determines whether it shows up there. Rather than relying on recency, is there a direct and complete path?

I think the default path for MSE is c:\program files\Microsoft Security Essentials. You will find a file named mssecse.exe. Try to launch it. If this does not help, please post your question in the "Microsoft Security Essential: Getting Started and Upgrading" Forum. http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/msestart/threads This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Once it appears right-click it and left-click Pin to Start Menu. I hope you find this information useful. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact me and let me know. I hope this information was helpful… Have a nice day… Best regards, FisnikItknowledge24.com

On XP, I've always selected classic style start menu, and hence never had it available and never got into the habit of using it. "mse" didn't turn up anything, but "essential" does. Thanks.

Fine, the Instant Search was first included in Windows Vista and now it is used in Windows 7. Itknowledge24.com
