How to keep my extended desktop configuration when closing the notebook lid?
Hi, I searched all around for the answer fot this but had no luck. I have a XPS M1330, running Windows 7 (but before I had Windows Vista with the same issue) and I like to use the extended desktop to watch movies on my LCD. The thing is I can't manage to keep the LCD TV as a secondary monitor when I close the notebook lid, it keeps changing to primary. I set the options to "do nothing" when I close the lid, but it stills changes my LCD TV to primary when the lid is closed. The LCD TV is a Samsung R8 and my display adapter is a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS (Driver version 8.15.11.8171). Anyone has a solution for this? Thank you very much! Daniel

Hi Naniel, This is a known issue. There is a workaound for Windows Vista and I haven't test on Windows 7, Could you please test it?1. Click Start, type regedit and press Enter. 2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM 3. Set the value of UseIViewHelper to 0 to disable TMM (Transient Multimon Manager).4. Click OK and reboot you computer NOTE: If you want to re-enable TMM, please set the value data to 1. Hope it helps. Thanks.

I guess the solution will not work on Windows 7 as Microsoft says not supported on Windows 7 and other operating systems. However as it is a really old post, i hope he got some solution The information in this document applies for the Windows Vista operating system. Note: TMM is not supported in Windows 7 and later versions of the Windows operating system. from http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/archive/tmm.mspx
