How to host website using IIS on Windows 7?
I've installed Windows 7 Enterprise x86. I want to publish my web application on my machine. So, I've enabled IIS windows features (Under IIS, I enabled all of Web Management Tools and World Wide Web Services)Now on a visual studio, I clicked on publish to publish my web application as I've done this before on Windows server 2008 environment. On a status bar, I simply get "Publish failed" message. - no more details..When I type in my server name on IE, I do get the default page. So, I guess IIS is running okay. What could be the reason? Thanks,

Hello, I am currently running Windows Server 2008 R2 on a small home network, so i can host my own charity website. I have a problem when it comes to the IIS software (well i believe it to be the software) I am currently hosting a single website from this server, but when i tried to add an FTP site, it completely bugged out, and i could connect to neither of them. I have opened the required ports on my router, but as soon as the FTP site is added, the website stops working! The website is currently set to run through Port 80. Is there any fix for this? And also, do i have to use a 'third party' application, such as Filezilla to run the FTP (Does the FTP site act as a 'portal') Cheers.
