I have a pc running Windows 7 64 bit, a laptop running Win 7 32 bit and a netbook running Win 7 starter. When trying to get my netbook to join the homegroup created on the pc (join now is greyed out), I realised that the laptop was not joined either. ( I ad joined it to homegroup when I first got it.) I left the homegroup on the pc and set up another. I ensured all the required services were running as I have read in the forums. The netbook and the laptop both connect properly to the internet (wirelessly). The message I get on them is There is currently no homegroup on the network. The three machines are all in the same room. The troubleshooter on all 3 machines reports no issues that could be causing this. Incidentally I cannot even map the network drives between the machines now. I am running Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall I know this problem has been raised before but I have floowed all the solutions posed and had no success. What might I be doing wrong?

Hi, To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest you leave HomeGroup completely and create a new HomeGroup again for a test. Leave HomeGroup completely a. Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), in the search result list, right click on Cmd.exe and select Run as administrator. Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. b. In the popup window, type the following commands and press Enter one by one: Net stop p2pimsvc c. Access t he following folder and clear all files inside: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking d. Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), in the search result list, right click on Cmd.exe and select Run as administrator. Net start p2pimsvc After that, please create a new HomeGroup and join it again. If the issue persists, I suggest you upgrade the NIC driver for a test. Thanks, Novak
