Hi everybody. When the warning came out in late July I ran the Fix It for MS10-046 and of course most of my icons went away. I've heard that a later update should automatically bring them back but they are not back. Today I ran KB2286198 and they still are not back. I also tried running Microsoft Update and it did not find any updates available. This is for Windows XP Pro SP3. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you run Fix It, update won't redo fix it but in case that user did NOT do any work around then update would resolve vulnerability without affect.If you run fix it , then you could run another Fix It to back your icon to normal, I recommend you to have a look at:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2286198You could run disable workaround Fix it.
