How to fix manually deleted fonts

Hi all.

I encounter an issue, and I need some help to fix this, although it does not represent any threat.

I have modified a font, and past it in fonts folder when the old version was still there. Windows is asking if I should override this and when selecting yes, the system is actually making a copy of the same file and appends _0. at the end . For example , at the third override will show as somFontName_2.otf .

This can be seen only using the command line.

If you decide to delete the font, the Fonts folder will not show any available font but all the font versions are there, hence any program that scans the Fonts folder will pick them up, and the worst case is, they might point to a previous version like [...]_2.otf ( although the last one is, lets say [...]_4.otf) if they save the state at closing time.

I try to fix this by deleting them manually using command line tool, this was a successful solution as now other programs will not find them, but if I lets say, install the font again by copying it in the Fonts folder. windows says there is another version ( although there is none ) and on override confirmation it is making a copy in the folder with no _nr.otf ... but it does not show it ( checked with the command line )

The sfc completed successfully with no errors. Microsoft support center does not cover this issue as it is labeled for advanced troubleshooting session.

I guess there should be another file that keeps track of all override versions, and I need to clean that as well.

So my question :)

Can someone tell me the name of the file OR other solution to clean this index?

Thanks
