charms and start button is not working after making an update on windows today, already tried restart explorer.exe on task manager but then returns to the same pfff. 

what can i do to solve this error without having to format my pc ?

Hi tafodido,

We could run "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" to have a check of system files` health.
In addition to Kapil`s suggestion, we could create a new account and login with it to have a check. There is a possibility that the present user account has corrupted.
If the issue persists, we could perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous normal point.
