OK Bob,
You are obviously the man.
Now can you help me get this computer to take a network key that I know is the right key but it keeps telling me is incorrect?
Thanks,
Trivett
Was a WPA. We switched to a WEP...
BOB!
You are 2 for 2.
NOBODY I talked to knew how to fix that, but apparently Windows 8 will only do WPA2 and AES.
You should post that info up to my other thread so everyone can find it.
Thanks a million,
Trivett
Bob, You're a genius! Toshiba took over my computer to see why my printer wouldn't load and after they exited it wouldn't come out of safe mode no matter how many times I shut down. I called them back and they wanted to do a system recovery on it to solve the problem they caused! I nearly had a heart attack!!! Your solution did the trick!! I wish you could help with the printer install problem. Thanks for your suggestion!!
Lynne
You're welcome, glad to help! I wish I knew how to fix the printer install pI know someone else with a similar problem and I've been working with him on it. Still no luck though.
Bob, I called Norton to help me sort a possible virus issue. They wanted to connect with me remotely but couldn't so they asked me to go into safe mode by typing msconfig..... Anyway while is safe mode there is a password prompt on the front screen and I dont remember the password...I have been using my fingerprint which is not availble in safe mode. I keep turning off the computer and it comes back with the password prompt. I can't access anything else on the computer...it does not take me into windows. I am running Windows 8 on an HP laptop.

Thank you, Bob Comer. It worked.
Windows 8 should, though, make choosing the mode more obvious, rather than burying it.
You're welcome, glad I could help.

I agree with you on that!
Thanks Bob, that did the trick!
