How to disable SSLv2 in IE8, Windows 7 Ultimate?
Hi, I have Toshiba Satellite laptop in which I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate version. The problem I'm facing now is that in IE8, SSLv2 is enabled by default alongwith SSLv3. But rest are disabled. I know that in IE8, SSLv2 is disabled by default. But in my case it's got enabled. I tried in the web for solution to disable the SSLv2, but I didn't find. Kindly help me to understand why it's getting enabled by default and how to disable the SSLv2 in my OS. Any update appreciated. Cheers, Arindam

Open IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Security section > Uncheck SSL2 >Close IE and restart IE. If you want to change the registry value so that SSL is disabled, review the following path: HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders \SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 2.0\Client
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have tried to uncheck SSL2, but when the computer rebooted, the SSL2 option automatically gets checked. It’s so frequent for me now that, when I reboot the computer I always make sure to check that SSL2 option unchecked, before starting my work on IE. I have checked the registry path and found the below registry value: DisabledByDefault--0x00000001(1) Kindly suggest me possible course of action. Cheers, Arindam
