How to deny actions in Windows 7 without GPO
In our company we have stores. In those stores we have a pc that is not connected to AD and won't be connected to AD. These pc has two accounts, a user account and an administrator account that can do everything on the pc. First these pc had XP installed and with SteadyState we secured the user account. The user don't have IE, don't see the C hard drive, couldn't access the c drive or my documents, couldn't delete any icon of the desktop and couldn't change background desktop. Now due the evelotion we need to install Windows 7, but SteadyState is not compatible with this. So what solutions are around so I can secure the user account and give the administrator account all the access? OR is there a possbility that when the user logs in, the program starts up and they can't do anything else? Plz give answer on the two questions :-) Its really important for me, I need to find the best solution for 30 pc's. Thanks

Hi, If you can't use GPO's you might want to look at secpol.msc (Local Security Policy) ... You can create application control policies if you wanted to allow/disallow different exe's. J

If your system is Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise Edition, you can use Local Group Polies and restrict their scope to non-administrators.
