How to create user mobility through windows 7 within a domain.
Basically our business is running of windows 2008 server which the employees are linked to running windows xp pro currently. We would like to switch to Windows 7 pro. But I had some concerns on networking. What i would like to be able to do is to have a user log in to any computer in the office and have access to his own personal files located on the server. Files would exclusively be kept in the users folder on the desktop under documents, music, pictures, etc... I was hoping someone can help me to find a solution to synchronizing this with the server to where having to change a bunch of settings everytime a user logs on to a different computer would be needless. I know how to redirect folders to the server. But is there a system built into windows 7 that would do that automatically each time a user logged onto a different computer he has never used before in the same office off of the same network. The user accounts are located on the server. So in theory there should be a way to do that with specific folders aswell and have those automatically sync to any computer the user logs on to. It would also be ideal for customer user settings for the O/S could be saved and loaded from the server for each login from different computers that way a person wouldnt have to change settings again there. Basically the idea is for people to not have to have their own computer. But for the computers to be universal to everyone. It would make moving people around in the office a much easier process. Could someone offer insight on how to accomplish this?
