How to create Windows 7 Firewall rule for javaw.exe?
Hi, You can check the following settings. If you want to set group policy for Windows Firewall, I suggest posing in Group Policy forum. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall In the left pane, select Allow a program of feature through Windows Firewall, then click Allow other program and find the program. Meanwhile, you can refer to this article http://www.grouppolicy.biz/2010/07/how-to-manage-windows-firewall-settings-using-group-policy/ Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Windows 7 workstation pop-up when I run one application installation: Windows Security Alert Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program Your network administrator can unblock this program for you. Name: Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary Publisher: Sun Microsystems, Inc. Path: C:\users\xxxxxxx\appdata\local\temp\orainstall2012-08-17_02-31-17pm\jdk\jre\bin\javaw.exe I need to create a firewall rule in Windows 7 firewall by Group Policy. I can create normal firewall rules by GPO but I can't create firewall rule if application path is variable e.g. c:\users\xxxxxxx\appdata\local\temp\orainstall2012-08-17_02-31-17pm\jdk\jre\bin\javaw.exe Do you know are the wildcard symbols allowed (e.g. asterisk)?
