How to create/delete desktop shortcut from your own desktop, not other users (Windows 7)
Hi Our setup is that there are three users, with their own passwords. When we either create or delete a shortcut, it puts it on or removes it from the others desktop. What do I need to change to make the change just relevant to that user, so I don't affect the other desktops? Please..... it is driving us nuts. thanks Steffy65 Ok, I think the problem is with the path, in that it is going to a shared path.. How do I change it so that when someone creates a shortcut it goes to their own desktop path...

Hi, When you create a shortcut on your desktop, that should not affect other user’s desktop. Does these users are local users or domain users? When you create a shortcut on desktop, it will showed on c:\users\useraccount\desktop. Try to login with Safe Mode and check if the same issue occurs.
