I have a user that recently changed their last name and engineers have properly reconfigured ADUC and Exchange, but a request to change Office communicator to reflect users new last name. Could someone explain how to properly do this please.

In OCS I believe you just need to change the users msRTCPrimaryUserAddress Attribute in AD.

From your description above, you change the last name for users in AD, but not change the sip address. So base on my understanding, there is no need to make change on Office communicator Server. It will replicate the address book change to the communicator client within 24 hours.

It didn't, in fact OCS 2007 r2 gui shows user with a sip of old last name. In ADSI user shows old lastname msrtcsip-primaryUserAddres, and in proxyAddresses her sip their also shows old name. Now if I edit ADSI to reflect new last name it breaks OCS.
