How to backup Windows 7 to a particular folder on an external drive?
I'm trying the backup feature (I have W7 Ultimate) and I want the backup to be done on an external USB drive. But I don't want it to be done at the root of this drive, I want to do it in a folder on this drive since I use this drive for other purposes too. Is it possible? In the "Set Up Backup" settings, I only see a way to select the E: drive (my external drive), not a folder on it. Thanks in advance.

Hi,By default it requires you to select the root of the drive to backup your files so as to ensure that you have enough space to store. To meet your requirement, I would like to share you with a workaround. You can create a VHD inside of the external drive and backup the files to the VHD disk. Moreover, you can usethe network location which supports to to backup your files to a shared folder. Best RegardsDale
