I would like to automate the process of making a full backup of my system. I would like the procedure to include the fillowing tasks:1) Check the drive for errors and bad blocks2) Clean-up obsolete files3) Degragment the drive4) Make an image of each block on the hard drive that contains data5) If the the backup fails to validate send me an email6) Issue one command to activate the processWhat is the easieat way to prepare a script file that performs these tasks running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit in dual mode with Windows XP Professional?

Several of those items don't require backup, you just schedule those tasks with task scheduler. Defragging of drives is done automatically in Windows 7 (every Wed 1am). Windows 7 Backup and Restore can backup just data or data and system image file (look at it for more specific options) can also be scheduled but the kind of backup you want, you need Backup Exec that could send you an email. Define obsolete files? You can also schedule the disk check with the parameters you want. Define what dual mode is to you. I know of dual boot, and Windows 7 XP mode (virtual). Have I missed something?MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message.
