How to add startup PIN for Bitlocker without TPM
Hello, I have a desktop with windows 7 ultimate 64 and no TPM. I've enabled Bitlocker on my OS drive and I'm currently booting the computer with a Flash drive. Is there an option to require an additional PIN code or password be entered on start up like i know is possible with a TPM (TPMAndPIN protector) ? Thanks in advance.

No there is no option to use a PIN code without having a TPM chip in your machine. The reason for this is that it is the TPM chip that handles the PIN code to protect the "unlock" keys which are located on the TPM.Blogging about Windows for IT pros at www.theexperienceblog.com

No, using BitLocker without a TPM is the least secure configuration, to improve security you need a TPM chip or a thirdparty solution.Blogging about Windows for IT pros at www.theexperienceblog.com
