How to access C$ on my Vista machine
Hi,I have a windows vista machine which has been configured to meet a specific security level. I want to access the C$ from anothermachine by using \\ machine name\c$, but I cannot login that machine with it's admin user account. I am sure that something has been done in the group policy, but I cannot find out how to solve this problem.Anyone here familiar with Windows Vista security setting? Pls give me a hand, thanks.Michael

Hi, I suggest you follow the steps below to enable administrator share and then check the result. 1. Click start, type: regedit and press Enter. 2. In the left panel, please navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\system\ 3. Right-click a blank area in the right pane. 4. Click New. 5. Click DWORD Value. 6. Type: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy 7. Double-click the item you just created. 8. Type 1 into the box. 9. Click OK. 10. Restart the computer. Then, let's check if the issue is resolved. Hope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
