How to Recover Data from a Bitlocker Drive?
Version: Windows 7 Bitlocker I had my storage drive Bitlocker encrypted. Reformatted my OS drive and noticed that the Bitlocker drive was then showing up as empty. I went and Activated Bitlocker on it hoping that this would re-enable me to access the data that was on the drive. Don't have those key files that you're asked to create when you first activate Bitlocker since I know for a fact I'd never happen to forget the password to unlock the drive... Is there a way to recover my data? I mean, from a technical standpoint it would make sense to me that I could decrypt the decrypted data to arrive at my original data. Does that seem plausible and is it something that I could actually do? I read somewhere about the bit-de.exe tool or something like that. Would that work in this case? Another issue is that I don't have a spare empty hard drive around that I could recover data to and it doesn't help that hard drives are overpriced right now... Thanks for any help.

Hi, Based on my research, you could recover your BitLocker drive with BitLocker Repair Tool. Please follow the steps in the link below: Using the BitLocker Repair Tool to Recover a Drive http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee523219(v=ws.10).aspx Best regards, Della Li
