How to Create a Custom Error Message for AppLocker
Everywhere I've looked it has been stated you can create a custom error message for applocker but I've yet to find any documentation. I'd like to do this for our domain so that users would know what is going on when it is implemented and have a convenient
way of letting the admins know "hey, I just tried to run/install software
abc but it didn't work can I get it approved?" Thanks!

This is set via policies, preferably group policies on the server side. Look in Computer configuration - Adminstrative templates - Windows Components - Windows Explorer and set the the URL to a page with more information. After you do this the error message
will look at bit different then before but it will also include the link to the URL you supply in the policy.
So, the fact is that the only thing you can customize is the URL, you cannot change the error message or add text to it.

Wow,
well I suppose it wasn't a lie that you can "customize" it, but not exactly what I was hoping for. Seeing a standard Error message with link or
More Information may not prompt people to click the link and see what they need to do next. I suppose if we send out enough emails letting people know.
The only other issue I'm seeing is, if they get other error messages will they always be directed to the same page? Is there no way to fine tune this like you could do error messages for Office.
