How to Change registry permissions from command line in Windows 7
I have a requirement to changeHKLM\Software\ABCsoft\ key permissions from command line on Windows 7 hosts. I tried using SubInAcl utility but it is working on only 32-bit registry hive(HKLM\Software\Wow6432node). Is there any utility/command which I can use on Windows 7 to change registry permissions of 64-bit hive. Thanks,SitaramThanks, Sitaram http://techibee.com http://sitaram-pamarthi.com

You can use the Regini.exe utility to change a registry value or registry permissions from a command line or from a script. To use the Regini.exe, you can refer to the following link:http://blogs.msdn.com/alejacma/archive/2008/03/11/how-to-change-registry-permissions-with-regini-exe-vbscript.aspxI hope this can help you.John

Hey, http://blogs.msdn.com/alejacma/archive/2008/03/11/how-to-change-registry-permissions-with-regini-exe-vbscript.aspx is useful to change permissions of 64-bit registry hive on Windows7, however, it is not helping me completely. I am trying to change permissions using SYSTEM account, with which I am not able change the permissions. Whereas, If I apply registry permissions changes with Administrator account I am able to change permissions. Is this a known kind of problem with regini.exe ?Ramu
