Hi MartinI agree, this is the most stable beta 1 version of any Windows OS I have ever tested.I have found a couple of incompatible programs, one was resolved by using compatibility mode, but the other was not fixable. All of the components that were the most disliked in Vista, seem to befixed in Win7. Somebody must have been listening.I'm having a lot of fun with the 'eye candy'.Regards, Ronnie Vernon MVP

Hey Martin,Lovin it so far.I don't have Vista, so it's kind of a new *new* experience for me.Encountered a few glitches though and I'm not even sure if the feedbacks I send are received or not. I click send but no confirmation/info gets displayed. The window just goes away. For now I'll assume it's working and you guys are receiving the data.Since I haven't used vista, I really really like the new interface/GUI. Feels like driving a luxury sedan after XP :) Kinda reminds me of how I felt switching from Windows 98SE to Windows XP actually.Love the speed at which it installed as well btw. Pretty impressive! Fast too (boot, starting apps etc). So, to answer your question, my first impression is a pretty good one... specially since this is a beta too.So, congrats and continued success :)Regards....Rej ~Rej

HiAgreed and same as Ronnie, this has to be one of the most stable Windows beta versions I have used, at this point while there are still some bugs and GUI issues (missing icons and wrong text) its very polished.Have a few software apps that are not working but I know some of the 3rd parties who develop these applications will be waiting for RTM before changing their code. There cannot be a crisis today....my schedule is already full

Hi Martin. I must say that I'm loving Windows 7 more and more. On day 2 and no major problems. Only thing that didn't work was Windows Live OneCare, but got one of the alternatives and it seems to be protecting me. (At least I hope it is. LOL) I have Office XP SBE and it's working perfectly and even my old Logitech MX700 Optical mouse is working fine. Can't wait for the final version to come out. Anyone know if Morro is going to be pushed out earlier than expected? If all is not lost, where is it?

I like it too , and i agree that is very stable beta unlike the Vista beta , i have yet to receive a blue screen on W7. a little bumps after installing it requiring for me to unplug my PC from my HDTV into an old CRT , but after installing the vid drivers i was able to use it again on my HDTV , Vista never gave me that problem when installing on the same setup using the same HDTV.Looks beautiful , runs great , not that many alerts like on Vista.

This is the 1st beta I've tried and I think it's great. I love the GUI and the fact that Internet Backgammon is back. It's very easy to use, with only a slight learning curve. So far it's working flawlessly. I will be disappointed when I have to give it up.There is one major thing I'm disappointed with and that's the UAC. I thought Microsoft was going to make it easier to use. I like to leave it on maximum protection but I don't like being prompted over and over for the same program. I installed Norton's UAC control in my Vista machine and I love it. Microsoft should make UAC more like Norton UAC, able to remember what the user approves.Overall though I'd have to give Windows7 a big thumbs up.Mark

I just got in this "libraries" thing ... for documents, music, pictures ... This is great, it puts everything into one place .... wow ! great feature ... except that my music need to be arrange because I always used itunes and I think WMP do not handle music like itunes is ....Did you saw the Aero Shake feature ? just shake a windows to minimize the others ... this is great !

Hi I'm currently using the free AVG AntiVirus program. This works very well on W7.This product is perfect for beta testing, since it is free, doesn't require registration, and can be installed/uninstalled without worrying about licensing issues when you need to install a new version of the beta. You can get the latest free version at this LinkHope this helps. Im using the Kaspersky Beta for my AV.Everything is running great. The only minor issue I came across was IE 8 Beta having issues with some sites (like when I check out at newegg it clears my cart instead of proceeding to checkout)But other than that everythings Running VERY smoothly.Everything just seems to respond a heck of a lot quicker compared to XP 64bit which is what I am dual booting with. Start time is faster, Programs open faster.I am confused about everyone posting their graphics and it showing Direct X 10, my Windows 7 installed Direct X 11. (see below)Also I another bug, cuz I have seen people complaining about the nVidia beta drivers, is that it doesnt seem to be detecting that the drivers for nVidia cards are already installed. When I ran a DxDiag, it says that my cards are using the nVidia windows 7 beta drivers but it still shows in the update. But again, I am loving this OS so far. Just cant wait for my 4 2GB sticks of 1066 RAM to get here, then I can see what this thing can really do :PDxDiag:Time of this report: 1/11/2009, 03:50:21Machine name: BRAXXIS-PCOperating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7000) (7000.winmain_win7beta.081212-1400)Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: EVGA__System Model: nForce 750i SLIBIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PGProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHzMemory: 4096MB RAMPage File: 1581MB used, 6905MB availableWindows Dir: B:\WindowsDirectX Version: DirectX 11
