How do you report program issues with windows 7????
Been having some issues with the nvidia graphics WDM and applications hanging or crashing. After spending a good time searching, I was unable to locate the problem report program that vista has. How does one report problems with Graphics or Games that hang to the Manufacture, ( have yet to find the link to report errors on Nvidia's website), or for that matter issues dealing with windows themselves. I do get the occasonal, check online for solutions when oneof these errorsoccur, but no manual ability to check on status of a problem? Or, No direct way to communicate issues tohardware venders? If anyone has links or suggestion on how toaddress this issue, please feel free to post. I do appreciate thehelpThis link refrenced in the "Windows 7 RC1, Feedback missing? How to report problems?", does not work when used as suggested in that postThanksGlenn

This forum is already a good place to post issues. but in case you want the 'send feedback' feature in win 7, try this:click window-button+R ->type rundll32.exe FeedbackTool.dll,ShowWizard

Hi ganicholsonAll of the Feedback links were removed from the Windows 7 RC Build. This was done for a couple of reasons. The first was to give users a more 'finished' look to the beta OS.The second was that the bar for bug reporting ha been raised now that we are in the Release Candidate stage of the beta. They are still activley working on all the bugs that were reported in the Beta Build 7000. However, in the RC, they are only looking for regression bugs. A regression bug is defined as 'something that worked in the beta, but is broken in the RC.Here is a quote from the official Windows 7 engineering blog."What sort of feedback are we looking for in the RC? We are primarily focused on monitoring the behavior of the product through the telemetry, and of course making sure we did not introduce any regressions in any dimension from Beta quality."Here is a link to that article.Engineering Windows 7 : Our Next Engineering Milestone Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

...."The primary difference with the RC is that we will not be changing the functionality or features of the product at this pointthats the sort of thing well save for a future release...We are primarily focused on monitoring the behavior of the product through the telemetry, and of course making sure we did not introduce any regressions in any dimension from Beta quality.."does that mean suggestions for RC are not going to be implemented on windows 7?

I would imagine that would largely depend on the suggestion. If it'sa minor tweak to a default behavior and involves maybe just changing a setting or two - it might go in. If it means ripping out entire sections of code for a major rewrite and the code is otherwise working fine, then no. If it's a suggestion to fix a particular bug, and the bug is spectacular enough, yes. If it's something that could be cleaned up at a later date - it may be put off until they don't have any more pressing bugs to squash.
