How do you get display texts in Lync 2013 window to appear under your name?

I have Lync 2013 client and when I make my conversation window bigger my text alligns to the side of my name. If i minimize or shrink the window the text falls under my name.

Is this by design or is there a trick?

Unfortunately this is caused by installing Office 2013 SP1. There is currently no way to fix it (aside from removing SP1)

Unfortunately yes. Not really great if you have really long name... Have a look at Michael's Tweet here where you can see the difference https://mobile.twitter.com/_mlamontagne/status/438733795672350720

I removed Office 2013 SP 1 KB 2850036 and I still have the annoying text next to my name on the right when i maximize the window size.

Does the same thing happen on a machine that hasn't had SP1 installed?

I will test that tomorrow. One user brought this up today. I didn't think it would be SP1, i know some updates were pushed through WSUS. I never really paid attention until the user came forward about it. We basically push the lync 2013 client from the entire office 2013 bundle. Users still use office 2010 since Microsoft quit supporting Lync 2010 if you use office 365. My home pC though does the same thing with full office 2013 package, but removing sp1, it still behaves the same way. I figured there would be some registry fix.

I know that the behavior as shown on my blog happened when I updated to SP1 (as I tested that specific behavior), but I'm not sure why removing it hasn't reverted the change (unless there's some other subsequent update that's done it)

I'll have a better look at it in the morning and see if I can work it out.

We'll push lync to a machine with no updates and test then add some updates to see if more than just sp1 is causing this.

Ya it behaves the same way without SP1 or any updates.
